Shonda Mayes is the founder of The Queendom Project, a movement dedicated to encouraging women to take back their God-given crowns, have a relationship with God through His son, Jesus Christ, and to honor Jesus with their bodies and life. Shonda has a passion for women, especially single women who are waiting on God to awaken their Adam and looking to experience love the way God intended. With all the negative images of women in society, Shonda hopes to inspire women to always remember that they are Queens and that they do not have to degrade themselves for anyone or live up to the negative depiction of who society says they have to be. Most importantly, she hopes to lead more women to building and having a strong relationship with God, and wants to show the world that you can live your life for God and still be super fly!!!
Shonda was born and raised in the Tidewater (757) area of Virginia and like many, she always had big dreams of becoming one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, working as an On-Air Personality in Radio, and a TV host. Life happened and things didn’t go the way she planned, but God had other plans for her. She has worked as a Human Resources professional for the federal government for over 14 years. Although a college dropout, she has attained success that matches her colleagues that have went on to pursue Masters Degrees. Considered a “Jackie of All Trades”, Shonda has many talents. She is down-to-earth and relatable because of the many life experiences that have molded her into the woman she has become today. Gifted in writing and public speaking, for which she won awards for while in school, Shonda decided to answer the call of God on her life and submit to His to will to use those talents to positively effect change in the culture of this world!
Today, Shonda resides in Atlanta, GA and is the mother of two beautiful girls. She dedicates her time to serving God, spending time with her family, and writing. She is branching out to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
